Blacksburg, Va — Instant Ocean,® the only sea salt backed by more than 45 years of research and innovation, today announced an educational partnership with Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia. Instant Ocean supplied all of the materials necessary to conduct a new workshop entitled: “Using and Choosing a Home Aquarium” held last month at Georgia Aquarium.
“We are very pleased with our ongoing relationship with Georgia Aquarium. Our involvement in this particular workshop solidifies our desire to help established aquarists and first-time hobbyists bring the ocean home,” commented John Fox, divisional vice president of marketing for United Pet Group’s North America Aquatics division, which owns the Instant Ocean brand. “We feel that by supporting Georgia Aquarium’s efforts, we are helping to educate consumers through a hands-on approach to learning.”
The one-day, three-hour workshop allowed 25 participants the opportunity to learn how to choose, set up and maintain a marine aquarium through a Georgia Aquarium instructor. Instant Ocean and Marineland® supplied the class with all of the materials needed to conduct the workshop including: aquariums, filtration and skimmers along with several new products from Marineland; a 60-gallon Cube aquarium and the innovative Double Bright LED lighting. Further, the class was supplied with all consumables needed for their set-up including Instant Ocean Sea Salt®, Instant Ocean BIO-Spira® and Instant Ocean fish food. Each participant was also given a $60 gift pack which included the new line of Instant Ocean foods and water care products to start their own home aquarium.
“This workshop is a great opportunity to learn and experience what it is like to have a home aquarium,” commented Kim Morris-Zarneke, Manager of Education Programs at Georgia Aquarium. “Thanks to Instant Ocean, participants do not just get to observe, they are able to get their hands wet!”
