Marietta – The Roy Barnes for Governor campaign released a new television ad entitled “Newspapers Deal” on Friday questioning Congressman Nathan Deal’s ability to tackle the serious issues facing Georgia while he’s distracted with ethical charges.

Congressman Deal is listed by the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), a non-partisan, watchdog organization, as one of the most corrupt Members of Congress, because of a Congressional ethics probe investigating his $1.4 million no-bid contract with the State of Georgia. In addition, the Congressional Office of Ethics said Deal may have violated up to six House ethics rules during his tenure in office.

“We don't need a governor who might spend months in court trying to save himself rather than working everyday to save Georgia,” Roy 2010's Emil Runge said. “We have a choice between the proven experience and competence of Roy Barnes or unanswered questions about Congressman Deal.”
